The Triathlete's Journal
Have you ever dreamed of doing something truly amazing? Something that will require you to push your body beyond anything you have ever done before?
If you have answered yes, then you are in the right place.
The Triathlete’s Journal is an ultimate guide to satisfy the needs of the growing ranks of triathletes – at every level of experience.
We have created a health and fitness publication to help those who dream of doing more with their lives beyond the 9-5. We want to help people become stronger, fitter, faster, go further, and move more efficiently. We don’t have time for fads or trends, all we are interested in is honest, trustworthy advice from those who have mastered their craft.
Our goal is to help those who have a unsatisfied sense of adventure and aspire to improve their lives through training, diet and endurance, pushing their body beyond the limit of what others might think is humanly possible.
We have created this resource out of necessity, pulling together a collection of experience to help answer some of the most pressing questions in this sport.
Our aim is the same as yours, to learn how to optimize our performance so that we can effectively challenge our body to achieve greatness. We want to break records and set personal bests, impress our loved ones and do the extraordinary, but most importantly, we want to explore the horizons of what is physically possible for ourselves. To expand our limits requires more than just the ability to clock up the miles, it requires you to learn what works best and what doesn’t. We know the sense of fulfillment that a great day can bring, and want to be able to share this experience with as many as possible.
Lets be real for a minute
Triathlete’s are an odd bunch…
We seem to like the incessant pain and punishment that comes with this sport.
If you are honest with yourself, how many times have you ever asked yourself ‘why am I doing this’ mid race? Some of your nearest and dearest also probably question your sanity on a regular basis. Can you relate?
Yet when you return home after a race you feel a sense of accomplishment. Others can feel confidence and pride radiating from you. You know you are happy.
As I said, we are an odd bunch.
Another part of you will have no doubt have seen something during your race that you fancy, or have a nagging feeling that if only I had that piece of gear, then I would have gone even faster.
This is only natural, and it is something we all suffer from. That is why we try to answer all questions about a product before you purchase. We also know that buying new gear isn’t the be all and end all of a good athlete. Ever heard the saying, all the gear, no idea? If you haven’t chances are this may apply to you. However, by learning correct training techniques, drills and tips, you can improve quicker than a piece of kit alone could achieve.
Origins of The Triathlete's Journal's
Tom Henries created The Triathlete’s Journal as research platform to scratch his own itch. Over the years, he had amassed a wealth of knowledge about the sport, but had just as many questions that he wanted answering.
On a mission of self improvement, Tom was frustrated by the lack of quality online for those trying to increase their success. He wasn’t interested in hearing generalist advice from those at the top, he wanted proven strategies which would help him get there.
He decided that he would gather this information himself, and The Triathlete’s Journal was born.
Tom continues to set himself new challenges as his hunger for improvement continues.
